If the noise is coming from the rear bottom of the fridge, you must check the condition of the condenser fan. Before checking the fan, make sure that you’ve already disconnected the freezer from the power supply. Then, remove the access panel that is on the rear side of the refrigerator. Look for dirt and debris that may impede the fan from operating freely. You must ensure that the condenser fan is free from obstructions as obstructions can prevent it from circulating the air freely. To remove debris and dirt from the fan, you could use a vacuum cleaner. You also need to check the fan blade, if they are damaged or if the motor is worn out, you must replace them immediately. At times, the problem will be the worn out rubber grommets, so it will be best to replace them.

Evaporator Fan Motor

The fan of the evaporator motor is usually found in your freezer compartment. When the compressor is running, this fan pulls out air from the coils to regulate the refrigerator’s temperature. If the freezer area keeps on producing loud noises, the evaporator fan motor may not be broken. Other symptoms of problem with evaporator fan motor include ice taking a long time to freeze or the fridge not staying cold. 

When checking the motor and the fan, you must cut the power supply to the fridge before taking out the evaporator motor cover. If frost or ice is causing the noise, then defrost issues may be causing this noise. If the fan is damaged or loose, you must replace it. At times, the motor’s shaft may prevent the fan from moving freely. If there is an issue with this, you must replace the part immediately. Once you replace the problem part, reconnect the power supply temporarily. However, you must be extremely careful when reconnecting the power supply as there are several live circuits that can endanger the life of the person carrying out the refrigeration repairs. Evaporator Fan Motor Grommet

This part helps in reducing the vibration noise by acting as the separator that isolates the motor from the mounting bracket. The grommets may develop wear and tear and can be the source of excess noise. Check the evaporator fan and look for the motor grommet to check if it is worn out. Make sure you disconnect the power supply before checking the condition of the grommet.
